Managers and HR professionals, transparency and fairness are important. The less transparent and fair the work environment is, the more likely it is you will have litigation. Mad employees are more likely to seek representation and want to get back at you. And sure, you can refuse to answer (simple) questions like these. But the employee could get an attorney and then you’d have to answer. And if the employee appeals the corrective action or termination, the steps taken or not taken will be scrutinized by others. Hiding behind the “we don’t talk about other employees” statement when you were asked a yes/no question is silly. Not quickly answering why they got fired instead of coached is weird. It should be an easy answer. If you treat employees fairly and consistently, why hide that? For those thinking that other employee’s accommodations matter in this, they don’t. Other employees with accommodations still mean the action taken was fair. Well, unless it wasn’t because you aren’t being consistent. If you’re a manager or HR professional and this video makes you uncomfortable, that’s a sign to either practice how you communicate in potentially uncomfortable situations or be more fair and consistent so you can just say “yes, you’re being treated fairly and consistently.” #hrtiktok #humanresources #investigation #corporatelife #manager

If 300 people apply for a job, how competitive of an applicant are you? Do you think you'd be in the top 10? It may be a good strategy to look for open roles with TPA’s or PEO’s. You can gain experience in the work you want to do and then hopefully move to a mid level role somewhere else later—if you want to.
