What if your body saying “this is too much” isn’t a sign that you need to push harder? One of the things I teach—whether we’re doing yoga or working through the HyperStrong Method™—is that movement is information. Pause. Notice. Breathe. Respond. You don’t have to force your body into a position just because someone told you that’s where it’s “supposed” to go. For those of us with hypermobility or chronic pain especially, learning to listen to those signals can completely change the way we approach movement. Your body gets a say. 💚 Want to practice with me? ▶️ Subscribe to my YouTube channel, Natalie Pendergrass, for more yoga, movement, and HyperStrong education. 🧘‍♀️ Or join me for my live yoga classes! If you’re hypermobile, how far you can stretch isn’t necessarily a sign of how well your body is moving. Instead of asking, “How far can I go?” try asking: What do I notice here? Where does my body naturally want to stop? Can I breathe without forcing myself farther? Sometimes the practice isn’t gaining more range of motion. It’s learning to feel what’s happening in the range you already have. That shift—from pushing your body to actually listening to it—is a big part of how I approach movement in the HyperStrong Method™. 💚 ▶️ Subscribe to my YouTube channel, Natalie Pendergrass, for more yoga, movement, and HyperStrong education. 🧘‍♀️ Want to practice with me live? If you’re hypermobile, that constant tightness may not mean you need MORE stretching. Your body may be gripping because it’s trying to create stability. The goal isn’t to simply make those muscles relax—it’s to help your body find support somewhere else. When we build better stability through the core, appropriate breathing, body awareness, and strength, the neck, shoulders and other areas that have been working overtime may finally have permission to soften. That’s a big part of what I teach inside the HyperStrong Method™. 💚 Want a place to start? DM me SUPPORT and I’ll send you my free guide: 5 Strength and Stability Strategies to Feel More Supported and Grounded. #Hypermobility #EhlersDanlosSyndrome #ChronicPain #NervousSystemRegulation #HyperStrongMethod
