If you have found anything that helps, no matter how small, please share what is getting you through this time — maybe it can help someone else, too. For me, keeping my body moving is big part of what has been helpful for mental clarity while taking in all that is happening. It’s easy to become overwhelmed, but that’s the purpose, and I really don’t like for people with 💩 motives to have power over me. While I can’t control everything outside of me, I can work to manage how it shows up inside of me and how it influences how I proceed in the world. Being engaged in mentally and physically stimulating tasks has been incredibly helpful. Keeping the concept of autistic inertia in mind, it starts, sadly, by not sitting for my morning cup of coffee — but ya know what, that’s okay 😅 Currently, I’m working on creating a new office space that feels cozy, safe, and creative. I will have to share more soon, but I’ve begun working on a mural, a place for my plants, and added a bit of nature that fell in the wooded area behind my home. It will soon be a place for our three cats to snooze and play while I work on PACII stuff and finish my degree. Though Ivy (seen here) is probably most content when I’m using power tools. She’s now snoring as I write this. Special appearance by The Vagina Business - def grab a copy and give it a read if you haven’t yet 💛

Removing your cup doesn’t need to be messy. I like to do what I call “tilting it out” to empty mess free *every time — even when my cup is super full. This is how I do it: Seated on the toilet, I pinch the bottom of the cup and pull it out while also pushing the base of the cup directly down (as is comfortable). The result is tilting it out instead of it coming straight out. This way, the cup’s rim is level with the toilet when removed. Then I can dump it out after removal. With practice, it's quick and no mess. If you’re looking for a cup, please check out my quiz at putacupinit.com/quiz 💛 It will help you find the best cup for your body and period flow. Most cups hold about 3-5x more than a tampon or pad, but some hold twice that (if a heavy flow is your concern, I’ve got you!) You can see all of the higher capacity options on my chart putacupinit.com/chart 💛 Also happy to answer questions if you need more help. *In more than a decade of cup use, I can probably count the number of times I’ve gotten blood on my hand, well, on one hand. This method works for me, and I hope it helps you, too #menstrualcup #periodcup #menstruation #betterperiod

⭐ Inserting & Removing the Sunny Cup — A menstrual cup with an applicator I have a brand new post on the blog all about cups with applicators, so here is my quick demo of inserting and removing a menstrual cup with an applicator! 🩸The cup seen here is from Sunny Period. They are in the late stages of development, and I will update you when they are available, but you can read all about my thoughts at the link in bio. 🩸As always, please keep in mind that while I love, love this model it is not a real human body — actual insertion and removal are easier with natural moisture and the elasticity of real skin. #menstrualcup #periodcup #putacupinit #periodeducation #menstrualhealth #periodpositive #betterperiods #betterperiods
