For me, keeping my body moving is big part of what has been helpful for mental clarity while taking in all that is happening. It’s easy to become overwhelmed, but that’s the purpose, and I really don’t like for people with 💩 motives to have power over me. While I can’t control everything outside of me, I can work to manage how it shows up inside of me and how it influences how I proceed in the world. Being engaged in mentally and physically stimulating tasks has been incredibly helpful. Keeping the concept of autistic inertia in mind, it starts, sadly, by not sitting for my morning cup of coffee — but ya know what, that’s okay 😅 Currently, I’m working on creating a new office space that feels cozy, safe, and creative. I will have to share more soon, but I’ve begun working on a mural, a place for my plants, and added a bit of nature that fell in the wooded area behind my home. It will soon be a place for our three cats to snooze and play while I work on PACII stuff and finish my degree. Though Ivy (seen here) is probably most content when I’m using power tools. Removing your cup doesn’t need to be messy. I like to do what I call “tilting it out” to empty mess free *every time — even when my cup is super full. This is how I do it: Seated on the toilet, I pinch the bottom of the cup and pull it out while also pushing the base of the cup directly down (as is comfortable). The result is tilting it out instead of it coming straight out. This way, the cup’s rim is level with the toilet when removed. Then I can dump it out after removal.
