You won’t stop me from generating AI art or writing code with AI

Replying to @jsfinancials If you’re using “vibe-coding” in the loosest definition, i.e. using AI to guide the process of designing and implementing software, then yes, the app is vibe-coded. However, if you’re using the canonical definition… using AI to remove all critical thinking and blindly accepting what Claude says, then it’s just not true. I have: 1. Posts on my LinkedIn profile 2. Posts on my GitHub profile 3. Posts on Medium That all describe what I was building BEFORE AI came out. The design, including the strategy abstraction (arguably my most important design decision) and the event-driven architecture (which fundamentally solves inherent issues with retail backtesting platform like lookahead bias) verifiably came before ChatGPT existed. There’s a reason why I’m so defensive about this. I’ve been obsessed with this problem for over 6 years, since I was a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon. I put more effort into this than 99% of people put into their careers. Ive done research in deep reinforcement learning for stock trading. I have literally tens of thousands of commits **this year alone**. And then people take one look at it and conclude it’s vibe-coded? No. That’s complete bullshit. and the distinction matters. “Vibe-coded” software is inherently not trustworthy. If you’re risking $40,000 (like I am) on fully autonomous trading bot, you’re going to want someone to know how the underlying software works. So I refute the vibe-coded claims wholly and unequivocally. It’s outright verifiably not true. #vibecoding #algotrading #aitrading

I filtered the 10 biggest US stocks down to the ones with positive news. Same 250.8% return, and the 2022 loss dropped from 37.9% to 18.9%. Then I flipped it to negative news and 2022 still got cut almost in half. Holding the top 20 with no news at all had the smallest drop of any version. The smoother ride came from owning more companies. #StockMarket #Investing #AITrading #NexusTrade
