After more than a decade of building Fellowship programs across the globe, Founders Katherin Kirschenmann and Florian Hoffmann are proud to name Pia Heidenmark Cook the new Managing Director of their German non-profit The DO School Fellowships gGmbH. At the same time Pia will also take on the leadership of beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship as Executive Director. She is taking over the responsibilities from Mariah Levin, who successfully led beVisioneers for four years and four fellow cohorts. "We are proud of the impact and growth our non-profit Fellowship activities are having across the globe. As an experienced leader, Pia will continue to build on the legacy to enable talented young people to turn their ideas into action and drive the next chapter. We also want to thank Mariah Levin, who has been an incredibly thoughtful and successful leader building up the beVisioneers program over the last years. We are very proud of her and the team’s achievements” Under Mariah's leadership, the beVisioneers community grew to 3,000+ environmental innovators and champions across 46 countries - reaching close to 1.3 million people, and already avoiding/ sequestering 114,940 tons of carbon at the local level since 2023. We are incredibly proud of those achievements. Stepping in as Executive Director and Managing Director: Pia Hiedenmark Cook, former Chief Sustainability Officer at IKEA (Ingka Group) who has spent three decades turning sustainability ambition into results at scale. “Making a difference to everyday lives and working with people I can learn and develop with have always been key to every career decision I’ve made. Joining the fantastic beVisioneers team at the DO Fellowships, helping young entrepreneurs from across the world build the skills needed to realise their ideas and prototypes, is a dream come true. Building on what has been achieved since its launch four years ago, I’m looking forward to this next more mature phase of the fellowship, securing great fellowship experiences, end-to-end quality and operational excellence and effectiveness." 💡 You’re already building. Now imagine having someone who helps you think bigger without taking the wheel. Last month, 126 beVisioneers Mentors came together for our first Mentor Masterclass, exploring what it really means to support innovators as they grow. 👏 A huge thank you to Lisa Fain for sharing her expertise and her passion with our community. Her core message: the best thing a mentor can do is resist the urge to fix. The message was simple: great mentorship isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking the right questions. Our Mentors explored practical tools like Listen-Reflect-Ask, language that preserves agency, and one deceptively simple question: “Would you like me to listen, help you think it through, or share an experience?” ✍️ Because our Fellows aren’t looking for someone to fix their projects, they’re looking for people who can challenge their thinking, share experience, open doors, and help them find their own way forward. The feedback tells the rest of the story: an average 9.3 out of 10 would recommend the session, and 100% of respondents said the frameworks expanded how they think about what makes a mentor valuable. That’s mentorship at beVisioneers: connection, curiosity and co-agency. And it’s one part of what’s behind you when you join Cohort 5.
