I can finally say it… this house is starting to feel like HOME. 🥹🏡🤎 I’ve been budgeting and saving for this chapter for a long time, and furnishing my first home has definitely reminded me how EXPENSIVE it is to fill a whole house 😂 And I want to say this because I know social media can make it feel like you need to have everything done right away, you absolutely don’t. I furnished my home pretty quickly because I specifically budgeted for it and knew this was something I wanted to prioritize. My biggest advice is to be intentional with EVERYTHING you buy. Don’t buy something just because you have an empty corner to fill. Take your time, figure out what you actually love and scout around for the best price. Check your nearest thrift shop. Search Facebook Marketplace. Compare prices online. Wait for sales. You’d be surprised how many beautiful pieces you can find secondhand or for a fraction of the original price. I tried to choose pieces I genuinely LOVE, that work for our everyday life and that I can see myself keeping for years. Sometimes it’s worth waiting a little longer for the right piece instead of buying something just to have it. There are still things I want to add and change over time, but for the first time since getting the keys, I can finally look around and feel like this is OUR HOME. 🥹 The furniture makes it beautiful, but it’s the people inside that are going to make it special. I brought all my nieces and nephew to watch cirque du soleil for the second time because it is their circus of their dream! This time they watched @luzia.cirquedusoleil in Ottawa! 👻🎃 It’s officially October and I had to visit one of my favourite Halloween attractions this year @1d_behindthescreams. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years, I guess since they first started! The haunted house sets were incredibly well done, thought through and actors were amazing. I love love this years set and we get to enjoy two haunted houses!
