I really wish people knew that bribing their dog with treats gives a false sense of attention. The dog is not actually paying attention to you but to the food it’s going to get. And why wouldn’t they. But there is a better way to be important and relevant to your dog. And it starts with having them wait for permission to do the most basic of tasks such as eat their meals and exit doorways. This also teaches impulse control and patience…something nearly every dog needs more of. In our board and train program, dogs need permission to do nearly everything and we as their handlers/trainers, become relevant to them in a matter of days. And the training becomes super easy because we have dogs that want to pay attention and want to work for us. #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtraining101 #vadogtrainer #charlottesvilleva #crozet #jmudukes #dogsofinsta #gsd #puppytraining #dogtrainingrevolution #offleashdogs

Clients have this to say about our program: “It works because Jess makes leaders out of unsure owners.” “The training was fabulous and teaching us how to rethink our relationship is making it sustainable.  Jess is amazing, kind, patient and understands the challenges families face.” “Life changing for our dog and family.” This is all made possible because we spend time with the dog and their owners together, practicing in real life scenarios, so there is no question as to how to handle any situation. Owners are prepared and feel confident with their newly trained and well-behaved dog. If you need help with your dog, send me a DM. We are currently booking board and trains into the fall. #dogtraining #leashreactivity #offleashdogs #dogobedience #dogtraining101 #gooddog #vadogtrainer #charlottesville #crozetva #dukedog #jmu #uva
