A potential new NON-HORMONAL endometriosis treatment showed promising results after just ONE dose… but so far, it’s only been tested in mice. Researchers developed a targeted nanotherapy that delivers a drug called niclosamide directly toward a specific type of immune cell associated with endometriosis. Two weeks after a single injection, the mice had fewer and smaller endometriosis-like lesions and showed less sensitivity to pain. What makes this especially interesting is that researchers are trying to target the disease more precisely instead of having a medication affect the entire body. But this is VERY early research. A treatment working in a mouse model does not mean it will work — or be safe — in humans. Human clinical trials would still be needed before we know whether this could ever become an actual treatment option.
