F E A T U R E D _ G R A I L ✨ RANK 1 / POP 1 / CHRON 1 Originally graded a 9 by another company, this rare Pokémon Snap Squirtle was cracked out and crossed into a TAG 6.5 (694). Unfortunately a dent on the back top-right region—noted in its DIG Report, brought it down. Though it is relatively visually clean from the front, the hidden dent really impacted its Score on TAG’s 1000 pt. scale. This historic card is part of the 1999 Japanese Promo: Mario Stadium Best Photo Contest. The photo of Squirtle was taken by Miyuki Ogino during the Nintendo 64 Pokémon Snap contest and selected as a winner. Only 15 copies of each winning card were distributed, making this one of the rarest Squirtle and Pokémon cards in existence. Now slabbed in a crystal-clear TAG case, this card is preserved and documented for transparency. Dive into the DIG Report here: tagd.co/M5165100

TAG welcomes a new RANK 2 Pokémon Illustrator card to the Leaderboard-watch the video of it crossing from a Gem Mint 10 of another grading company to a TAG 9 (943). The RANK 1 Score still remains a 955 while the previous RANK 2, a 907, now holds third place on the TAG Leaderboard. This is the 8th Illustrator graded by TAG. You can explore the full Digital Imaging & Grading Report (DIG) by going to tagd.co/Z5671676. With only 39 copies officially distributed, this card was crafted as the prize for the CoroCoro Comic Illustration Contest held in 1997/98. In July 2021, a Gem Mint 10 Pokémon Illustrator (graded by another third-party grader) set a world record as the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold/traded (deal value est. $5.275 million.) The card artwork of Pikachu holding a paintbrush was done by none other than the creator of Pikachu, Atsuko Nishida. The Katakana characters "ポケモンイラストレーター " have been inscribed along side the other card data on the top of the transparent TAG slab.
