Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has compared the rapid growth of artificial intelligence to the internet boom of the late 1990s and the biotechnology investment bubble. During an interview with Fox News, Bezos explained that emerging technologies can attract significant investment and speculation, driving company valuations higher even when some businesses lack sustainable financial models. Bezos warned that investors could suffer substantial losses if the AI market experiences a correction, similar to what happened when the dot com bubble burst in the early 2000s. However, he emphasized that speculative bubbles do not necessarily mean the underlying technology lacks value. The internet continued transforming industries after the crash, and Bezos believes artificial intelligence could follow a similar path as companies develop practical applications and infrastructure. #JeffBezos #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Investing #Technology

Robotics researcher Jiafei Duan has introduced Reflex, a framework designed to help humanoid robots react quickly enough to catch objects thrown by humans. The system uses the Unitree G1 humanoid robot's onboard RGB-D camera to perceive incoming objects, predict their movement and coordinate its body to intercept them. According to Duan, the robot has approximately one second to recognize, predict and respond to an incoming box. The research demonstrates how advances in robotic perception, motion planning and physical AI could improve the ability of humanoid robots to interact with unpredictable environments. Catching moving objects requires rapid coordination between vision, balance and whole body movement, making it a challenging task for robots. These capabilities could eventually support applications in manufacturing, logistics and human robot collaboration, although the demonstration remains a research experiment. #Robotics #PhysicalAI #UnitreeRobotics #ArtificialIntelligence #Technology Source: Jiafei Duan via X
