Ye turned tragedy into triumph 23 years ago today 🙏 His debut single "Through The Wire," which also acted as the lead single for his debut studio album 'The College Dropout,' was released on this day in 2003. He famously recorded the track two weeks after a near-fatal car accident. In a 2004 interview with Yahoo Music, Ye spoke on how the record came together, noting that even if "Through The Wire" didn't take off, people would "remember" this song once his other tracks took off. "It made people realize I was a human being," he said. From this point, the rest was history, as "Through The Wire" was the first stepping stone to one of the greatest catalogs in hip-hop history. Tinashe is feeling grateful amid the praise she's received from her new album 'POPSTAR' ✨ "I inevitably reached a place where I no longer craved the validation of accolades, awards, or even mainstream success because it was too painful to care anymore. That's why this means so much to me-because after all of these years, to finally be here in this moment and seeing the praise for this project and finally feeling seeeeeen and heard is unbelievably touching."
