We took another BIG step in ending street homelessness today! Senator Catherine Blakespear presented our city with a $3 Million investment into cabin or tiny-home styled interim housing right here in Oceanside! The homes will be a middle space for folks who are off the street and stabilized, but don’t yet have a more permanent home to land in yet. It fills a deep crack in our current housing system and we couldn’t be more proud to step forward along side the Senator. This collaboration with Dignity Moves and Interfaith Community Services will save lives. What an exciting day for our city and our broader community. We look forward to showing everyone the progress as this vision is brought to life. #endhomelessness

Another community member was taken by ICE today. Please be aware the surge of ICE enforcement is real. This is a parent of our neighborhood school. I bump into them all the time at pick-up and school functions. I’m heartbroken for them. Now they have to navigate the impossible web of bullshit DHS does to make it hard to track, communicate and advocate for loved ones taken. Please document what you can. We are doing what we can to support this and other families, but the volume of people is growing rapidly. If there is a GoFundMe, I will post it later. Report ICE activity by text to (760) 913 0306. Include city, location, time and photo or video if it is safe to do so. #iceoutofoside #osideornoside #speakup
