It gives us an added layer of protection while allowing us to move freely, work confidently, and be even more creative with our artistry. I personally LOVE point cutting on dry hair, and you know I move FAST! ✂️ Having that ball tip gives me more confidence to work the way I naturally work while helping protect me from accidentally poking or injuring myself…or my client.🤪🙃😩 As hairstylists, our hands and bodies are our livelihood. HairBesties, you don’t always need to pull permanent color through the ends just to refresh your client’s color. Sometimes a Demi is exactly what the hair needs. ❤️‍🔥 and that is what I did here on my wonderful model @taliashvedova For this refresh, I used Demi Color to gloss and glaze the hair, bringing that beautiful copper-red tone back to life while giving the hair incredible shine. I also added #olaplex No.1 into my color formula to support the bonds while I color. I always allow my color to process for the full recommended time. especially with copper and red tones. to give those dyes the opportunity to fully develop and help maximize longevity. After rinsing, I treated her hair with @Olaplex No.2, followed by No.4 Shampoo and No.5 Conditioner. Once the hair was dry, I used my Phoenix Rising Shears to trim, shape, and point cut away those dry, split ends while maintaining softness, movement, and body in her haircut. ✂️🐦‍🔥 I especially love the Ball-Tip Shears because they allow me to move quickly and creatively while giving me an added layer of protection for my fingers. When I’m point cutting fast, having a tool that supports both my creativity and safety makes such a difference. I loved seeing the “1000 Trees” Mountain Mall in Shanghai, China The trees rising above the columns and all the layers of greenery made me want to pause and take it all in. The building itself was such a beautiful part of the experience. As an artist, I’m always drawn to creative details, and this place gave me so much to look at. I love discovering places like this when I travel, something unexpected that stays with me long after the trip. Shanghai continues to amaze me and put me in awe. HairBesties, Does this scare you? Lifting dark hair before a direct dye service takes patience. I start with a low developer, such as 5-6vol, then move to 10vol and finish with 20vol as I work through my foils. Adjusting the developer throughout the application helps me manage processing time and work toward an even lift without feeling rushed. Always consider the hair’s condition and follow your lightener’s directions. Low and slow is my approach! I also add Olaplex No.1 to my lightener and compatible color formulas to help protect the hair’s bonds throughout the service. The result? HairBesties, choosing how to lighten the hair depends on the result we want. Sometimes I reach for permanent or high-lift color, and other times a lightener is the better choice. A lightener with low-volume developer can give us a brighter result than high-lift color with a higher-volume developer. Both have their place…it comes down to the hair in front of us and the look we’re creating. ✨ For curls, I love using Olaplex BondShaper to help define and enhance their natural shape. 📺 “H8 Everybody But You” – Guy Tang “H8 Everybody But You” is definitely one of the standout songs from my music catalog. It’s tongue-in-cheek, a little playful, but underneath it all, there’s a lot of truth. Writing this song gave me a place to release my frustrations and emotions while also recognizing how grateful I am to have that one special person who understands me through it all. I knew this song would be a different and refreshing form of artistic expression for me. There’s something so liberating about being able to say exactly how you feel through music without holding back. That freedom is one of the reasons I love this song so much. One of the most meaningful things for me is running into people who tell me they listen to my music, love a certain song, or connected with something in my lyrics. It means more to me than they probably realize because my music comes from such a deeply personal and vulnerable place. Usually when I start writing or recording, it’s because I have something inside of me that I need to say, but I don’t always know how to express it in everyday life. Music gives me that space. The recording process becomes a place where I can let everything out, explore what I’m feeling, and turn those emotions into something I can finally release.
