he saw signs of may thurner and and potentially smas but told me he needed to look over it again, his absolute finds from my CTA and mesenteric duplex ultrasound were MALS and nutcracker syndrome. he also stated i met the velocity criteria for mals upon inspiration and only got higer and higer during expiration. im not celebrating because im happy to know i have more problems, im happy to know that i was listened to and validated told i made the right decision seeking out the opinion. i know this doesn’t mean im going to be fixed in every aspect, but im willing to do anything to try and help myself feel better. before i walked out of the office today he let me know that we were going to do the celiac plexus block asap!! i’m so excited and nervous at the same time, nobody understands how much this means to me and i mean NOBODY. it has been years of battling my intense stomach issues (which is only a fraction of what i deal with) that haven’t responded to any treatments and only continue to decline. it has been years and years of GI doctors not knowing what to do with me and my treatment resistant gastroparesis. news flash! we can’t address one thing until the underlying issues are addressed as well! literally less than 2 months ago i came crying to my GI doctor asking him if he thinks i should try and consult a vascular surgeon for an opinion since i was so burnt out on continuing to battle an issue that seemingly could never be helped. AND HE TOLD ME NO, THAT VASCULAR COMPRESSIONS ARE EXTREMELY RARE. i didn’t listen, i searched for hours online and in facebook groups until i found a vascular doctor who seemed okay enough to put my trust into. im so glad i did. i cannot thank him enough even tho it’s still incredibly hard to process at the moment. i feel like i wasted so much time fighting something that i stood no chance against. let this be your sign that you know your body best and to never stop advocating for yourself. #vascularcompression #MALS #nutcrackersyndrome #gastroparesis #hEDS
