As with everyone’s story, there is so much to ours but I wanted to reintroduce myself to anyone who’s coming across my page for the first time & wondering who is this woman?! My name is actually Daisy, I’m 35, a mum to two, husband to one 😅, content creator, Positive Discipline Parenting Coach & virtual mum friend to all. Almost 4 years of being ‘Muddle Through Mummy’ & it’s been such a privilege to know that I may have made even the tiniest positive impact in the lives of women when they needed it the most. If you’re new here, please stick around for all the inspiration on how to create a magical childhood & motherhood! From after school activities, days out, family holidays, easy recipes, routines & some mundane but oddly comforting content too! And if you’re not a mum but you just like the vibe & want to hang out, that’s more than fine too. As long as you’re kind, everyone is welcome. #mumsoftiktok #comfortcharacters #mumlife #intrusivethoughts #pnd #mum #boymum

What TO say to someone with postnatal depression Following my reel about what NOT to say, I thought I should probably follow up with some ideas of what to do/say, as someone who has dealt with postnatal depression myself (but I am not a postnatal health care professional). Honestly, most of the time, I really didn’t want to talk about heavy stuff so just being around people who felt light and positive was medicine enough for my weary soul. I desperately missed company. Having friends come over to hang out, keep me company and just hold space for me when I needed it was key. I felt that I missed out on invitations to do things because people assumed I wouldn’t want to or couldn’t come now I had a baby and that made my feelings of isolation worse. Sometimes just being asked is enough. Saying “hey, want to get together and order pizza for the kids lunch and we can brainstorm about meal planning while they play” is such a lovely offer of both company and practical support. Becoming a new mum is overwhelming without all the usual household tasks and feeling accomplished and less alone would definetly have helped. I will say though, depression is a funny one (not haha funny!) because I didn’t want to be a burden so actually accepting help when it was offered was tricky. Sometimes people just taking action and showing up for me was necessary and really helped but it is a fine line between being supportive in that way and overstepping boundaries, so checking in regularly to make sure you’re not doing that is vital. The most important thing for me was to feel seen, heard and not so alone; having someone acknoledge “yeah this sh*t is HARD, I’ll make you a cuppa”. Saying things like “soak it in” or “enjoy it” to someone in the throws of PND only adds to feelings of guilt they are probably already struggling with. It’s not easy to know how to navigate things when someone you care about is going through Postnatal Depression but please be patient with them and don’t give up on them. #PostnatalDepression #Anxiety #MentalHealth #NewMum #MumLife #Postnatal #FourthTrimester #PND #MumFriends

AD| A little mum hack that actually takes zero extra effort 😂💧 There are so many tiny ways we can save water at home without having to completely change our routines. From not leaving the tap running while washing up, to putting the dishwasher on eco mode and getting the kids involved too. Small changes, but when you do them every day, they really add up! What’s one thing you’re teaching your kids now that you hope just becomes second nature to them? 💭 Head to the link on my profile for more easy ways to save water at home 💦 #LetsSaveWater #WaterEfficiency #SaveWater #MumHack #Routines @Let’s Save Water

AD | One minute they’re taking their first steps, the next they’re ready for their first bike 😭🚲 Time is flying, so I’m trying to make the most of where we're at right now, which means family bike rides and adventures with my boys ❤️ Halfords has adult and kids’ bikes available to ride away the same day, all with a 2-year guarantee, so we can get out and enjoy it together. @Halfords #Halfords #FamilyAdventures #FamilyFun #BoyMum #GiftsForKids

AD 💗 This Skin + Me offer is INSANE 👀 Right now you can get **5 @Skin + Me products for just £4.99** that’s **80% off your first Daily Doser**, plus free trials of the SPF, cleanser, moisturiser AND serum. But for me, the real value isn’t even the products… it’s the **unlimited access to their dermatology team** 👩‍⚕️✨ You can get advice and tweak your personalised formula for your nighttime treatment, which is such a game changer when you’re actually trying to figure out what your skin needs. I’ve seen a dermatologist before and know how expensive that can be, so the fact you can try personalised skincare + get access to dermatology support for **£4.99** feels pretty wild to me 😳 If you’ve been thinking about trying Skin + Me, this feels like the time to do it 👀💗 #SavingMoney #Skincare #SkincareRoutine

What is up with secondary schools these days? Wow this has been an eye opener in what’s to come & being totally honest, I’m just glad it’s not me (I know some people loved school but I was not one of those people & if I was offered a “do-over” I would absolutely decline) #secondaryschool #bigschool #mumlife #year6 #schoollife

How to make mornings less stressful AD👇🏼 One of the best investments I’ve made as a parent is our Yoto Players. For the last couple of years, we’ve had no screen time on school mornings, because I found that my boys just didn’t transition well off them and getting everyone dressed, fed and out the door for school was always much more stressful than it needed to be. Instead, they listen to their Yoto Players while I’m getting breakfast ready. They absolutely love Yoto Daily which has stories, facts and jokes every morning and it’s just become part of our routine. What I also love is that it’s genuinely grown with them. We’ve had Yoto since my youngest was two, and now my eldest is nine and a half, and they’re both still using theirs. My youngest uses his as a night light and now he’s older, the OK-to-wake clock has become so useful too so he knows when he’s ok to get out of bed. And because there are so many different cards, from stories and music to podcasts, audiobooks and activities, what they listen to can change as their interests do. It’s one of those things that we’ve had for years and somehow they’ve never grown out of… they’ve just grown into different ways of using it. @Yoto #morningroutine #dailyvlog #schoolmorning #mumhack #giftsforkids
