One of the ways I like to touch up a face frame highlight when I paint 🎨 Would be beautiful on a dark base as well. It’s more than just the two sections right in their part line, especially if they’re dense up top like she is. Need to paint enough of that hair to make a difference! Mermaid hair coming up! 🧜‍♀️ We weren’t looking for a dramatic change, we just wanted to give her a little more length and fullness through the ends without the result screaming “I have extensions”. Using 22” @donnabellahair Kera-Links allowed me to customize everything from the color blend, to the size and density of each individual bond based on what her natural hair could comfortably support. I used about 60g of hair in shades 5N & 3N. After 3-4 months of wear, we can remove and use again using Donna Bella re-bond tips! With fine hair, less is definitely more. Bob, who?! This was soooo fun. Full head of individuals for my girl @katietorwalt 🤍 In the past we’ve done wefts, hybrid methods, and k tips for fill ins up front but this time we decided on a full head of keratins! She naturally has baby fine, kind of wispy hair and we love that these mimic the look of that and move a little more realistic for her texture and density. Why just one technique when you can combine two?! Let’s break this @Donna Bella Hair transformation down a bit more: One of my favorite ways to add bulk/length/density is with wefts BUT what about those areas wefts just simply cannot reach? Thats where keratins come in. Two rows of Hybrid wefts in the back to blend out her perimeter using the colors 7N for a medium blonde that matches her natural and 5N/7n/9n which matches her dimension throughout. These wefts combine the best of both hand tied wefts and machine wefts and I didn’t even have to color them, they matched so perfect!! Pro tip here: your blonde clients NEED dimension in their extensions for the most realistic match! Next, kera-links went in around her hairline (using the same shades), including the underneath where that spot is usually a dead giveaway for extensions. I was able to cut them into thirds and halves depending on the density of the area I was working on. This is also where I was able to extend her bright face frame pieces using the brighter blonde pieces. Try adding in a couple of keratins underneath your bottom row and around the hairline and watch your extension applications upgrade instantly. This was SO much fun. That's not to say you can't get a brighter or lighter end result but In this case, a subtle shift was all that is needed! And In my opinion, balayage is the easiest way to do that!! If she wanted anything lighter, I would have reached for my foils. The blend and the dimension is built into the application so we just needed one tone all over at the bowl. Lifted to a 7, toned back down to a 6 using @ARETÉ Professional 6.0 and a little 6.1 in Alchemic color. Mixed 1:2 with 5 vol. Because this is a more opaque finish, it's amazing for corrective toning! Do you paint your brunettes?! If not, you should start!!
