I personally use and recommend Dr Bronners Peppermint Soap for a deep clean then Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo to add moisturizer but still provide a second round of cleaning. dry your locs with your preferred method of air dry or using a cloth. ➔ retwist: learning how to self maintain your locs gives freedom and is a great skill to have. It takes practice, but don’t all great things in life? moisturize your locs with your light weight products of choice. use a light but strong gel to achieve a clean retwist (Taliah Waajid Lock It Up or Tight Hold gel) as well as a rat tail comb for parting if you care about your parts. using clips and letting them dry completely before styling is extremely important for a long lasting retwist. ➔ style: I always advocate for the least tension as possible as I have become tender headed since starting my locs. choose a style that suits your look but doesn’t compromise comfortability. have a beautiful day ✨ . . . . . .
