#Hospital #gofundme My daughter wrote: Hi everyone, I don’t usually talk about my personal life, but I wanted to share what’s been going on these past few months. It started with pain in my lower right back after my menstrual cycle. At first, I assumed it was a UTI or kidney infection, but the pain kept returning, sharp, stabbing pain that would wake me up at night, often with nausea and vomiting. It got so bad that I started sleeping in my mom’s room because I didn’t want to be alone. In April, I scheduled an ultrasound at UTMB. The results showed a 9.7 cm cyst (endometrioma) on my right ovary and a 5.2 cm cyst on my left. What upset me most was that no one called to explain the results, they just told me to book a gynecologist appointment, and the earliest one available was July 3. Since no one seemed concerned, I assumed it wasn’t serious, especially because I had a cyst burst when I was 12 and recovered quickly. But the pain got worse. I went to the ER at UTMB and was left waiting for hours, feeling ignored and dismissed. By June, the pain became unbearable. I was crying, vomiting, and exhausted. I didn’t want to go back to the ER, but my mom took me to Hospitality ER on the seawall. They treated me immediately, with IV fluids, pain medication, and another ultrasound. For the first time, someone actually explained what was happening. I finally felt heard. Two days later, I had to return because the pain intensified, and the medication wasn’t working. Another ultrasound showed my cyst had grown to 10 cm. It was pressing on my bladder and filled with old menstrual blood; a “chocolate cyst.” The ER doctor gave me a referral to a gynecologist who saw me that same day. At that appointment, we discussed surgery, fertility, and options like egg freezing, although, at my age, I couldn’t imagine affording something like that. I went to a fertility clinic for an ultrasound and bloodwork, but they told me we couldn’t proceed until I had surgery. The cysts were too large, and the doctor said, “This is one of the most severe cases I’ve seen in a while.” One of my ovaries has tissue damage, though the blood flow is still okay. I was referred to a surgeon at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women in Houston and recently scheduled surgery for October 7. Waiting feels like forever. There’s also a possibility the endometriosis has spread to my bowels, so I now need an MRI and a consultation with a colorectal surgeon. This journey has been long, painful, and emotionally draining. My mental health has taken a hit, and I'm still dealing with daily pain. I’d really appreciate your prayers and any support you can offer. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. — Courtney Dohring GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/79f510ef #CapCut

#CapCut ⸻ *****Five-Star ER Experience! I can’t say enough great things about the staff at Hospitality Health ER. From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. They listened carefully to my daughter’s concerns and managed her pain quickly and effectively, something that truly brought us peace of mind in a stressful moment. What really stood out was how seriously they took her symptoms. We never felt rushed or dismissed; instead, we felt seen, heard, and cared for. The entire team was professional yet warm, creating an environment that felt more like a high-end spa than a typical ER. The decor and ambience were surprisingly beautiful and calming, with soothing lighting and a clean, welcoming space. They even had snacks, refreshments, and complimentary drinks available, such a thoughtful touch! But hands down, my favorite part was the complementary massages, not just for the patients but for those waiting on their loved ones. That small act of care made a big difference. Hospitality Health ER redefined what an emergency room experience can be. Thank you for going above and beyond! ##HospitalityHealthER#E#ERP#PersonalReview
