As a rescuer, I never thought I'd buy a dog, but here we are. Again, we can't begin to know or understand the circumstances of the previous owners - this story isn't about them. If anything, I hope it highlights the heart and emotion that goes into rescue work. It can feel very personal at times. For me, seeing that FB post felt like an emotional rug pull. It didn't sit right, so I felt personally compelled to make it right - and I'm happy with my decision. Now are you ready to meet Sweetie and see her enjoy her first day in Southern California?!:) #animalrescue #rescuedog #dogsoftiktok

This is Princess. She lives outside and used to crawl under the house for cover when the weather got bad in Kotzebue, Alaska. But thanks to the teams at VCA Charities and Straw For Dogs, she now has a warm/secure space to call home that’s all hers. Enjoy your new house! ❤️🙏 #dogsoftiktok #rescuedog #animalrescue #rescue #alaska
