GRASSHOPPER FIRE — ACTIVE FIRE BEHAVIOR Clackamas, Hood River & Wasco Counties, Oregon. Yesterday, the fire was well established in the Badger and Jordan Creek drainages and crossed Bennett Pass into the Hood River drainage. The fire remained active throughout much of the operational period. On the western flank, the fire reached Highway 35 near Hellroaring Creek. On the north side, spot fires from the previous day merged with the advancing fire front, prompting additional evacuation status upgrades north of the fire. The Oregon Department of Transportation closed a section of Highway 35 from Wamic Road north to Cooper Spur due to the ongoing fire activity. Source: Grasshopper #wildfire
