⏬️Before my injury, I was independent, physically active, and had no real understanding of what it meant to live with a disability. But after my car accident on October 30, 2020, everything changed in an instant. My car slid off the road during a snow squall, rolling down a 40-foot embankment and flipping three times. That moment split my life into a clear "before" and "after. Now, I navigate the world differently. I notice barriers most people don’t even think about. Simple things like curbs, stairs, or heavy doors became daily challenges. But at the same time, I’ve found new strengths, new perspectives, and a new way of moving forward. It’s like living two lives in one, one where I took mobility for granted and another where I had to redefine independence on my own terms. #DisabilityAwareness #LifeAfterInjury #Resilience #TwoPerspectives #WheelchairLife #spinalcordinjury

Why People with Spinal Cord Injuries Struggle with Temperature Control | SCI Awareness⏬️♿️ Did you know that many people with spinal cord injuries, especially quadriplegics like me, can’t regulate our body temperature? Whether it’s a hot summer day or a freezing winter night, our bodies may not respond the way yours does. Depending on the level and severity of the injury, we may not sweat, shiver, or even feel the changes in temperature, meaning we’re often too hot, too cold, or just stuck in between. This is one of the lesser-known challenges of living with an SCI, but it's so important for others to understand.
