I finally found my way back to empyrean series with iron flame, after a bit of a sabbatical but I still plan to finish all these books before threshing day. I’ll be moving into onyx storm after this and I’m looking forward to seeing what fourth wing stories we get in the new novella coming out. I was enjoying Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros until it got spoiled for me, then read Blacktail by Scott Hawkins, Honey in the Wound by Jiyoung Han, and finished the month with Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. I’ve read so many incredible books over the last two years, and I genuinely feel like I’ve grown as a reader. I went from primarily reading fantasy and sci-fi, to dipping my toes into romance in 2025, and then opening the door to literary fiction, horror, and historical fiction in 2026. Every book I read teaches me something, challenges me in some way, or simply reminds me why I love reading. And yes, I know I said I had 11 books and would only show 10 for 2026… but I forgot to include Lightbringer because it was my last five-star read. My bad.
