A bucket-list dream come true during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! 🥹 There’s something truly special about experiencing Balloon Fiesta from the sky instead of the ground. After years of watching the balloons fill Albuquerque’s skies, finally getting to ride in one was an unforgettable experience! The adventure started in Corrales, where the crew found a safe launch spot, checked the area, unloaded the basket, and brought the balloon to life before takeoff. And the views? Absolutely breathtaking! 😍 Floating above the Rio Grande Valley with the Sandia Mountains in the distance gave us a whole new appreciation for New Mexico’s beauty. 🌄 We even learned a few interesting things along the way! 🏡 Bernalillo County’s “X Marks the Spot” program allows property owners to welcome balloon pilots to land on their property. 🎈 Chase crews must follow special access procedures when retrieving balloons that land on Sandia Pueblo land. To top it all off, our first flight ended with a certificate and a hug from the pilot! ❤️ Some experiences are worth waiting for, and this was definitely one of them. 10/10 would do it all over again! 🎈 ATTENTION BALLOON FIESTA ATTENDEES, VENDORS & EMPLOYEES! 📢 Here’s something you might not know about entering the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! Local high school JROTC students are volunteering at the entrances, scanning tickets and badges to help raise money for their program. According to information shared at the entrance, each scan earns approximately 25 cents toward their program, and last year they reportedly raised as much as $15,000! 🤯 It might seem like a small thing, especially if you’re working the event or entering with a badge, but every scan adds up! So please, don’t bypass the students at the entrance. Take those few extra seconds to have your ticket or badge scanned. ❤️ A small action can make a big difference for these hardworking students!
