Sewing has been one of those things I’ve wanted to learn for the longest time, but somehow there was always a reason to put it off — lack of time, resources, not knowing where to start… and then motherhood came along and it felt even easier to put those little dreams on the back seat. But I’ve been learning that becoming a mom doesn’t mean you have to stop being you or let go of the things you’ve always wanted to do. I came across @SCM , a new sewing studio in Montreal that teaches the basics of sewing, and decided to finally give myself the chance to learn. And now, a few classes later… I MADE A DRESS. 😭 It might just be a dress, but to me it represents finally doing something I’ve wanted to do for years and proving to myself that I’m still allowed to pursue my own interests, goals and hobbies — even in this season of motherhood. So if there’s something you’ve been wanting to learn or try, take this as your sign to start. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to have everything figured out.
