Today I had to take a road trip to Chicago, and last year when I was here @Ricobene’s Chicago started popping up all over my feed because I think Chicagotok knew that your boy likes anything chicken parm. So I knew my next visit to the big city was gonna consist of at the very least a visit to Ricobene’s to try that amazing looking Chicken Parm sandwich. And boy let me tell you, South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, Plymouth, Niles, Fort Wayne. Nothing in the Michiana area is like this amazing work of art coming out of this local small restaurant here in Chinatown. Next time you’re in Chicago if you’ve got a few minutes to spare for a detour, you’ve gotta try it or the steak sandwich because whoa buddy you are missing out and this is a great sandwich to detour for. So yesterday I had my first big boy collaboration with @emily and @Kayla where we went down to @CambodianT.restaurant for an invite to try the new menu items that will be at this weekends South Bend Fusion Festival at Howard Park! They had an awesome menu item that I highly recommend that isn’t on the menu at all (that I also kept mispronouncing in the video 😓) their Spicy Larb Wings! You all know I love Cambodian Thai anyways so when Sonita messaged me I was in. So come this weekend to Fusion Fest, come check out Cambodian Thai, and come find Emily, Kayla, and I there too!! Alright tonight we got off work and hurried all the way from South Bend to Niles Michigan to check out the Four Flags Apple Festival for the first time and what a doozie it was ! It’s always been so close to Elkhart, Mishawaka, Goshen, Benton Harbor, and Kalamazoo, all places I’ve stayed, but I’ve never been to it! Even something like Laporte or Valparaiso aren’t really far drives, or Bremen! I tested the Apple donuts to see if they could compete with the fresh blueberry donuts from the Plymouth Blueberry Festival in Marshall County, we tested out some fresh Apple Cider that they made slushies, an apple pie cookie, some apple pie fudge, and even, just a regular old red apple (might have been a Fuji? Maybe a honeycrisp? Maybe even a cosmic crisp, I actually am not sure!) Then after sampling the apple specific goods I had a few requests to try out finally @Cousins Maine Lobster truck because they come to town a few times a year and there is always like a 2-3 hour wait for a lobster roll (but guess what, they have other lobster stuff too like a lobster grilled cheese sandwich!). So I needed to know if the wait was worth it. So I did some on the spot reporting for you all! Then we tried a place I’d never seen called Pure Pork and their pork wings and Mac and cheese. Finally I was full but I needed to get some kind of actual dessert to try for you all so out of Chicago I found Gene’s Catering and she had some apple crumble cheesecake that was calling my name. I know this is a bit of a longer video but I tried a lot of stuff and wanted the real reactions for you all!
