This was something I had no idea was happening when I was a new foster parent in truth. I only heard about it when I started making content and people were sharing with me about the visits they were having in their home. Of course, this does not make sense for all or most parents and circumstances. You have to consider safety and also the child’s wishes and desires and what they are gonna be most comfortable with. Also, if you as a foster parent are not totally comfortable, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad foster parent if you don’t want to do this. Now that I’ve covered that, in some circumstances, it may be really supportive to reunification to the parents to the kids so I wanted to make a video to showcase how this might happen and come about and what foster parents can think about if they’re considering these types of visits.
