Replying to @Britthove unfortunately it’s not as simple as a don’t do this, just do this instead. Rather than a specific set of procedures to implement or not implement, it has to do with a big shift in how we are supporting our neurodivergent students. We can start the conversation with getting back to the root of social validity and choosing goals which are functional, meaningful and relevant. Once we do that, many of the prior concerns re: promoting and reinforcement can be resolved. #specialeducation #abaprogram #bcba #rbt #aba

Play IS learning! We NEED to do better at prioritizing it and making it a non negotiable critical component of every early childhood program. Disabled kids need play too. It sounds great, but it can be tricky to figure out what this looks like in practice.
