#philanselmo #metal #pantera #heavymetal #random_pained Pantera was an influential American heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas, in 1981, credited with pioneering the groove metal subgenre in the 1990s through their aggressive sound and heavy riffs. Formed by brothers Vinnie Paul (drums) and "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (guitar), Pantera started as a 1980s glam metal band before completely reinventing their sound. With the addition of vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, they stripped away the glitz for bone-crushing riffage and driving rhythms.
