Christa Pike's execution attempt just became a historic failure. Two doses of lethal injection drugs did not kill her witnesses say she was still alive and even snoring afterward. The doctor who oversaw it was also involved in another botched Tennessee execution back in May, when staff couldn't even establish IV access for over an hour Tennessee's governor called it "deeply disturbing" and has now indefinitely postponed her execution and the state's only other scheduled one this year. #ChristaPike #BreakingNews #tennessee

Cornell University has agreed to an independent review of how it handled a 2024 incident involving students at the Chi Phi fraternity house, New York Governor Kathy Hochul said. The move follows renewed scrutiny after a lawsuit filed against the university, Chi Phi and others raised questions about how the case was handled. Cornell has said disciplinary action was taken following its internal investigation, while disputing claims about the consequences faced by those involved. Hochul said outside counsel will examine whether Cornell met its responsibilities to students and properly handled the case. #cornelluniversity #cornell #news #usa #newyork

Reports of harassment and assault against women on the London Underground have reached a five year high. Our reporter Mimi Yates went undercover on the Tube to investigate what women face when travelling alone - and whether “see it, say it” really means “sorted”. Across several journeys, Mimi secretly filmed men following her, harassing her and refusing to take no for an answer. In the latest episode of Underground: UK, we share our exclusive undercover findings and investigate the gap between posters telling women to report - and what actually happens when they do. Reporter: Mimi Yates Director/Producer: Matthew MacLeod Editor: Ryan Davies Videographers: George Phull, Kacper Kupczyk Graphic Design: David Ojobo TfL said: “We are working closely with the police to make the transport network a hostile place for offenders…The behaviour that Mimi experienced on our network is appalling and totally unacceptable. We encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses this kind of behaviour to report it to the police or a member of staff…We are also committed to improving CCTV coverage, image quality and data retention across the network.” BTP said: "We urge anyone who experiences or witnesses an offence on the railway to immediately report it to 61016 so our officers can make urgent enquiries. That number receives over a quarter of a million texts every year – and this figure continues to rise as confidence grows among passengers in reporting historically underreported crimes, such as sexual offending. In response to Mimi’s assault: “On 29 June we received a report of a sexual assault that happened two months prior, in the early hours of 26 April. This report was immediately triaged by staff in our force Contact Centre, before being passed to police officers in London who contacted the victim directly by phone within 90 minutes of the report. To give us the best chance of securing vital evidence such as CCTV – which is owned by train operators who are only able to retain footage up to a certain amount of time – we’d encourage victims of crime to report incidents to us as soon as they can." #Underground #Investigation #Exclusive #Tube #Undercover

Christa Pike may have suffered a brain injury following her failed execution in Tennessee, according to a medical expert retained by her legal team. The 50-year-old death row inmate survived two doses of pentobarbital on Wednesday before being taken to hospital for emergency treatment. Dr. Joel Zivot said the drug may not have reached a high enough level in Pike's blood to stop her breathing and heartbeat, potentially leaving her with brain damage. Pike's lawyers have blamed problems with her veins and allegedly degraded pentobarbital for the failed execution, while also raising concerns about the state's execution protocol. #christapike #usa #news #tennessee #deathrow

The Trump Administration just started mailing out $500 checks to nearly 1 million Americans just weeks before the midterm elections. They're calling it an "Obamacare refund" for people overcharged under Biden. Daily Mail’s @Jon Michael reports. This is separate from the $5,000 "Trump dividend" he's also promised if Republicans keep the House and Senate, which legal experts say would never actually hold up without Congress. #Midterms2026 #Trump #BreakingNews #dcinsider
