Harry Pearce explains why typography and architecture are actually the same discipline. Typography and architecture are really solving the same problem. In this unforgettable Design Indaba moment, the @pentagramdesign partner explains how the spaces between buildings shape our lives just as negative space shapes typography—and how that idea inspired one of his most celebrated identity projects. If you love graphic design, branding, architecture or typography, you'll never look at cities—or type—the same way again. “You probably have this plastic in your wardrobe…” You probably don't think twice about sequins. ✨ But these tiny pieces of plastic are used across fashion and accessories — and their production can contribute to environmental pollution. Elissa Brunato asked: could nature do it better? Inspired by the shimmering structural colour of beetle shells, she developed cellulose sequins made from plant-based and waste materials. The goal? Fashion materials that can eventually return to nature instead of leaving plastic behind. This is what biomaterials and circular fashion could look like. 🌱 🎥 Elissa Brunato | Design Indaba Global Design Graduates 2020 #ElissaBrunato #DesignIndaba #SustainableFashion #FashionTok #Biomaterials #FutureOfFashion #CircularFashion #SustainableDesign #Biodesign #EcoDesign #FashionInnovation #MaterialInnovation #Cellulose #Biomimicry #DesignTok
