For 28 years, a lab inside Princeton's engineering school studied whether consciousness can affect the physical world. It was called PEAR. People sat in front of random number generators and tried to nudge the output with intention alone. Across millions of trials, the machines drifted in the direction people intended. Serious institutions don't fund 28 years of nothing. In 1998, PEAR researcher Roger Nelson took the question global. The Global Consciousness Project placed random number generators around the world and watched what happened during moments of mass attention. On days like 9/11, the data stopped behaving randomly. If you're a materialist, this is noise. If you're not, it's what you'd expect: consciousness isn't locked inside the skull. Ingo Swann, the master psychic from Project Stargate, didn't think psychic ability was a gift for a chosen few. With today's tools (i.e., weather measurement, vibecoding, social media), this could actually work and much better. If I had a significantly bigger platform, I would 100% build this as a free app 😂 Log your dreams, timestamped, before the news breaks. Look for clusters: fifty strangers dreaming about black water in the same week. Then cross-reference it against the Global Consciousness Project, Roger Nelson's network of random number generators that he argued deviates around major world events. For thousands of years, the San people of the Kalahari chewed hoodia to survive long hunts without food or water. Then scientists patented it, a pharma deal worth millions followed, and the San were never asked, never told, never paid. In fact one pharma executive told the world the San no longer existed. That’s biopiracy: taking Indigenous knowledge, patenting it, and profiting while the people who carried it for generations get erased. The San fought back. But it DID crash white blood cell counts They realized it could be used to fight leukemia, which produces an overabundance of white blood cells. This learning became vinblastine and vincristine. Vincristine became a cornerstone of treatment for childhood leukemia, which went from almost always fatal to roughly 90% survival. And THIS IS NOT A ONE OFF. Aspirin traces back to willow bark, used by the Sumerians and Egyptians for generations to treat pain. Tu Youyou found her malaria breakthrough in a 1,600-year-old Chinese text that said to steep sweet wormwood in cold water. Heat was destroying the compound; artemisinin has gone on to save millions of lives and earned her a Nobel Prize. Traditional healers, working from generations of close observation, have (at times) been centuries ahead of biochemistry. Personally, I believe some of the best outcomes happen when the two meet with respect for the lineages that carried the knowledge.
