Help children discover what works for their unique brain with this fun and engaging Dopamine Booster Brain Takeaway resource. Inspired by the idea of a takeaway menu, children create their own personalised “brain meal” by choosing activities that they enjoy and that help them feel ready, motivated, supported or proud. The focus is on self-awareness, choice and recognising that different brains have different needs. Using the four menu sections  Starter, Main, Side and Dessert  children explore a range of activities that encourage movement, creativity, connection, curiosity, sensory support, achievement and enjoyment. There are no right or wrong choices. The aim is to help children notice which activities help their brain feel its best. This resource has been created using a neuroaffirming approach and is particularly suitable for children with ADHD, although it can be used with any child to encourage wellbeing, self-reflection and positive self-understanding. The pack includes a selection of fun, interactive activities centred around the Brain Takeaway theme, making it ideal for ELSA sessions, nurture groups, one-to-one support, wellbeing interventions and classroom discussions. Perfect for: ELSA sessions Children with ADHD Wellbeing activities Nurture groups Social and emotional learning One-to-one interventions Small group work Encouraging self-awareness and emotional literacy Children will come away with a personalised menu of activities that helps them recognise, celebrate and support the unique way their own brain works. #adhd #elsasupport #childrensmentalhealth

This is our Coping skills toolkit for emotional regulation. There is a handy little pouch and lots of resources that will help pupils with their emotional regulation. Each pupil could be given one of these. Go through the cards and decide which emojis to put in and which calming cards to put in. Each pupil could have their own bespoke toolkit. #elsasupport #childrensmentalhealth #sel

Here is a ‘Harvesting Happy Moments’ activity for you!  This is a lovely visualisation exercise  to help pupils focus on the positive experiences in their lives. Imagine walking through a peaceful autumn orchard, with rows of apple trees around you. Each apple represents a happy memory or joyful experience, and as you pick them and place them in your basket, you’re reminded of the warmth and love those moments bring. This activity is all about fostering gratitude and mindfulness, encouraging children to recognise and cherish the good things in their lives. It’s a gentle way to build emotional resilience and create a positive mental space, whether in the classroom or at home. Included is a visualisation and an activity for pupils to do afterwards. Ask the pupil(s) to lay down or sit quietly and close their eyes as you read through the visualisation and afterwards they can fill in their apples. free download on our website #elsasupport #childrensmentalhealth #sel
