As an associate, there were days I’d see 30+ patients. Now as an owner, I may see around 10-15 pts from (10am-4pm) But the part you don’t see is that my role has completely changed. I’m not just thinking about the patients on my schedule anymore. I’m thinking about our team, systems, patient experience, growth, finances, marketing, and the long term vision of a family practice my husband and I are building together. And somewhere along the way, my definition of success changed too. I still love dentistry. I just don’t believe I have to run myself into the ground clinically to prove that I’m good at it. Especially in this season of becoming a new mom, I’m learning that sometimes the real flex isn’t doing more. It’s creating a career that gives you the freedom to decide what “enough” looks like for you. I spent a lot of years building my résumé. Now I’m learning how to build a life around it. 🤎

This time last year I was taking my oral boards, stressed OUT, and late. 😭 Did I think I was pregnant? Absolutely not. I thought “Girl, you’re stressed. Your body is just going through it.” Meanwhile, I was literally taking my oral boards pregnant and had NO idea. 😂
