👋🏻 still here. still arting. but more living too. will let chu know how it all goes. and share more drawings / works / whatever ends up happening as they come and I (kind of) reinvent my artist wheel. Not shown: graphic design projects and other experimental ventures. maybe those will come about here another day. #artistlife #oilpainting #artstudio #womenwhopaint

sometimes I do leave the studio! Due to many events and things, this year has been lighter on the art and heavier on the “who am I outside of this because what if I don’t want to do this anymore.” Turns out- I do. But also: a full answer to that question is inportant. Anyway, hi I’m Devon and I also like to dance, and snuggle with cats and take up expensive crafty hobbies, and spend time with my girl friends who I love, and dress up and go out for drinks in a basic bitch disguise cause I like clothes and make up too, and eat mostly sugar. #artistsoftiktok #laart #orangecounty #womenwhopaint

The road to reinvention is often vast, dark and full of doubt. This part of the creative cycle isn’t new to me. But the chasm this time around has felt particularly large. Almost like before I had found my signature style of the past 5 years. My plan is to let you in more often. Rather than spend a year in the chains of excellence and perfectionism before letting pieces be part of my “official body of work” (bye. im done with that concept. As FUN as that was). A new challenge for myself, and hopefully a new point of connection between you and I. The generous folks that keep sticking around ❤️ Anyway- mark your calendar for Sept 2nd! First new work release of the year (lmaooo in September 💁🏻‍♀️). There’s only gonna be a handful and small works do tend to go quick, so I HIGHLY recommend getting on the patre*n. They get access a day early. Newsletter is a good place to be too so you don’t miss. #newcontemporaryart #laart #laartist #oilpainting

In case you didn’t know, I have an art podcast with my two art besties @speaking_in_rainbows and @Andrea Guzzetta called Hey, What Are You Working on? We attempt to share actual very useful information alongside our rants and jokes. People have said it’s like hanging out with the art friends they’ve yet to find 💁🏻‍♀️ which makes me extremely happy. We just dropped a new ep today on HOW TO SELL OUT . if you’re an artist if any kind you should definitley go take a listen. Searchable on Spotify and Apple. You can also find with my 🔗 Shoutout to our meme queen Andrea Guzetta for these gems!
