I've been thinking about putting together a community survey for the LitLaunch concept. Before I dive into creating it, I thought I'd ask... Would you actually be interested in taking part? The idea is to hear from every corner of the bookish community and gather a wide range of perspectives - readers, authors, editors, narrators, bookstores, reviewers, content creators, bookish businesses, and more. The survey would help me understand whether LitLaunch is an idea finally worth taking to the next stage after 5 years - including researching possible funding options if there is enough community support. LitLaunch has spent years trying to understand one question properly: is there a better way for the whole bookish community — not just readers, not just authors, but bookshops, editors, narrators, designers, and everyone else — to discover, create and connect? That question doesn't have an answer without hearing from all of you. It’s been almost a year since I built this book discovery prototype, and I’m still tinkering away to make it better. Here’s the paradox: I set up a GoFundMe to help fund it, but I’ve been entirely paralysed when it comes to promoting it. Something in my brain tells me it’s wrong to ask in todays economy. Then the company reached out today offering to make things more affordable to help me launch, which somehow made the mental block even heavier. And I'm still paralysed to post it – Brains are weird like that aren't they?
