EDIT: slide 14 definitely had text on it when I posted and somehow it magically disappeared 🤦🏻‍♀️ it originally stated that I made it almost a full year after my hysterectomy before my right ovary started having chronic cysts that would rupture each month (pcos was then considered a culprit as well). Endo bloat returned with a vengeance, and so did the pain. We had moved close to Nashville by that point, and I saw a specialist through #vanderbilt (who I absolutely adore!). She felt it would be best to remove that ovary, so surgery was scheduled. Sorry for the confusion there! 🫶🏼 I appreciate all the support I’ve received so far through reposts, shares, likes, and comments of your own stories❤️ It’s so important that we continue to inform and push for answers, as well as share our stories bc we are NOT alone. There are so many more of us than we’re led to believe, and women’s health has been neglected for far too long. There are so many misconceptions about endometriosis, but we’re fighting them together one by one. For so many, diagnosis takes on average 7-10 YEARS, and like myself, many need multiple surgeries to help manage the condition. In the US alone, it’s estimated that 1 in 9 women suffer from this awful disease. The more we learn as a society and in research, the more chance we have at combatting it.
