Credit to @slash repost from @jimmypage On this day in 1983, I played the first ARMS concert at @royalalberthall  When asked, I immediately agreed to take part in the ARMS concert at the Royal Albert Hall organised by Ronnie Lane to raise funds for Action Research into Multiple Sclerosis. But then it suddenly hit me that nearly everyone involved had had a solo career except for me. I also hadn’t been on stage since Led Zeppelin three years earlier. At rehearsals I thought, ‘God, what have I got myself into?’ It didn’t matter, though. The spirit of the event was such that everybody pulled together. Nobody was trying to upstage anybody else; we all just pitched in, united in our love for Ronnie. I didn’t feel comfortable going out there and just doing Led Zeppelin songs. So instead I decided to build my set around the Death Wish II material I had been working on. One of the pieces was based on Chopin’s Prelude in E Minor, a particular favourite of mine. Setlist: I. Prelude in E Minor II. City Sirens III. Who’s To Blame IV. Stairway to Heaven (Instrumental) iiii]; )'

Woodstock” is a song written by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. At least four versions of the song were released in 1970. Mitchell’s own version was first performed live in 1969 and appeared in April 1970 on her album Ladies of the Canyon and as the B-side to her single “Big Yellow Taxi”. A version by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young appeared on their album Déjà Vu in March 1970 and became a staple of classic rock radio and the best-known version of the song in the United States. A third version, by the British band Matthews Southern Comfort, became the best-known version in the United Kingdom and was the highest charting version of the song in the UK, reaching the top of the Singles Chart in 1970. Despite their midday position, AC/DC’s performance is widely remembered as one of the highlights of the event. Even more remarkably, the show came just six days before the Highway to Hell album was released in North America, capturing the band at the exact moment they were moving from cult favorites toward global superstardom. The lineup was Bon Scott on lead vocals, Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Cliff Williams on bass and backing vocals, and Phil Rudd on drums. The synchronization between Angus and Malcolm Young created the unmistakable AC/DC guitar attack, while Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams provided the relentless rhythmic foundation. Above it all was Bon Scott, whose stage presence gave the performance its raw, dangerous energy. The 1979 Day on the Green footage remains one of the most significant filmed documents of the Bon Scott era. It captures AC/DC at the height of their original power, just months before Scott’s untimely death in February 1980.
