SoulShaker compilations ⚡️ documenting the new soul & funk scene. The SoulShaker compilation series was among the very first Record Kicks releases. Vol. 1 landed back in 2003 with one simple mission, to capture the sound of the reborn international funk & soul scene. Between 2003 and 2010 we released 7 volumes, featuring some of the finest names from that new generation of soul & funk artists: Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, The Bamboos. Quantic Soul Orchestra, The Budos Band, Breakestra, Tuomo, Baby Charles, The Sweet Vandals, Alice Russell, Lee Fields, Speedometer, Dojo Cuts, The New Mastersounds, Eli “Paperboy” Reed and many many more all coming from independent record labels. All the LPs have been sold out for years and have never been repressed. So if you spot one in the wild… you know what to do. 👀 Dig deep.
