One of the biggest signs of a great viennoiserie? Le croustillant, the crispiness you hear and feel with the very first bite. A well-made viennoiserie should have thin, crisp, flaky layers that lightly crack before revealing a soft, buttery interior. That contrast between crunchy and tender is what makes it so délicieux! Some of the classics you'll find in a French bakery: - Un croissant - Un pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) - Un croissant aux amandes (almond croissant) - Un kouign-amann (Breton butter pastry) - Un pain aux raisins (raisin swirl) - Un chausson aux pommes (apple turnover) - Un palmier (palm leaf pastry) - Un pain suisse (pastry with pastry cream and chocolate chips) The ones you saw here are from La Bicyclette Bakery in NYC and part of why the pastries are soooo delicious is that they make them with @isignysaintemere 🥐 Which viennoiserie is your favorite? How does the Eiffel Tower make you feel? Do you remember the first time you saw her? — I grew up in Paris, and yet I never get used to her. Every time the Eiffel Tower catches my eye, she still stuns me. As if, for a moment, Paris were charming me all over again. : J’ai grandi à Paris, et pourtant, je ne m’habitue jamais à elle. Chaque fois que la Tour Eiffel croise mon regard, elle m’émerveille encore. Comme si, l’espace d’un instant, Paris me séduisait à nouveau.
