Remember it’s “obsessed”. Not “abscessed”. That is all. 👉🏼😜👈🏼#drpimplepopper #SLMDskincare This is a large #lipoma before removal and at 10 days (suture removal)

Gerri is definitely one of my favorite people and patients ever. She is always a bright happy light who gave me an extra bounce in my step for the day. Bonus, she had a blackhead that squeezed out like a cute little fish or squirrel! What do you think it looks like? #drpimplepopper

I guess the key word here is “CUTE” 😂😊 #drpimplepopper #breakingout ⛔️ Alrhough I can make this look simple (and this is what I try to do so patients aren’t scared of getting growths treated) this is NOT simple for everyone and is definitely something you cannot and should not do at home. Please see a #boardcertifieddermatologist

The skin in and around your ears can collect oil, dead skin cells, and product buildup just like the rest of your face — which means comedones (blackheads/whiteheads) and milia can form there too. A little gentle cleansing and exfoliation can help keep those pores from getting clogged. Just remember: the skin around the ear can be sensitive, so skip the aggressive scrubbing and definitely don’t go digging around in there with sharp tools. 😅 Consider this your reminder to give your ears a little skincare love, too. 💛 #drpimplepopper #popaholics #dermatology #milia

A Dilated Pore of Winer is an enlarged pore filled with keratin and dead skin cells, creating a dark plug that can look like an oversized blackhead. 🔬 How does it form? Over time, a hair follicle can become enlarged and collect layers of keratin inside. They’re more common in adults and often appear on the face, neck, or upper body. 🧴 Can you prevent them? Not always - but keeping pores clear may help reduce buildup: • Cleanse regularly • Gently exfoliate with ingredients like salicylic acid or retinoids • Avoid picking or squeezing at clogged pores • Protect your skin from the sun! This one maybe didn't NEED the professional help 😏 but if you go see your medical provider they will be able to express and extract these with minimal chance for permanent damage or scarring! #drpimplepopper #popaholics #dermatology

These may look like giant blackheads, but they can actually be part of rhinophyma - a form of rosacea that causes the oil glands and tissue of the nose to enlarge. As those follicles become stretched and widened, they can collect large plugs of oil and dead skin, creating the prominent “blackheads” you see here. Rhinophyma is most commonly seen in men over 50, especially people with a long history of rosacea. We still don’t know exactly why some people with rosacea develop it while others don’t, but chronic inflammation, enlarged sebaceous glands, genetics, and environmental factors may all play a role. And despite an old myth, rhinophyma is NOT caused by alcohol or poor hygiene! There’s no guaranteed way to prevent rhinophyma, but controlling rosacea early may help reduce the risk of progression. That means working with a dermatologist to manage persistent redness and inflammation, using prescribed rosacea treatments when needed, wearing daily sun protection, and avoiding personal triggers that repeatedly cause flushing. If the nose starts becoming thicker, bumpier, or more oily over time, getting evaluated early is especially important. Have you or someone you know experienced rhinophyma like this? #drpimplepopper #popaholics #dermatology

🚨 Skin cancer care is at risk. A new Medicare proposal could mean fewer dermatologists accepting Medicare, longer waits, and delayed skin cancer diagnoses. And when it comes to melanoma, early detection can save your life. I’m standing up to #SaveSkinCancerCarebecause this isn’t about doctors. It’s about patients. ❤️ 👉 Go to SaveSkinCancerCare.org and add your voice.
