Spiny monitor one of 2 here I’m raising up. Very intelligent, very primitive and very special! Each scale on its neck and back has a raised keel that gives it a rough sand paper feeling when handled. Big eyes and big feet, this mid sized monitor is largely arboreal but does venture to the ground to eat eggs and fish. Captives aren’t usually picky and these 2 are eating crickets, quail and eggs. #spinymonitor #varanusspinulosus #varanus #monitorlizard #monitorsoftiktok #reptilesoftiktok #simcontainer #reptilekeeper
