How I Passed the NCLEX in 85 Qs #nclex #nursing #nursingstudent #nursingschool #UWorld @uworldnursing

I couldn't believe that one video could give my mom and me an experience we’ll never forget. I wanted to remember the moment I passed the NCLEX with my mom, so I set up a camera to get our reactions. Her "passsss" gives me chills every time I rewatch the video, and I want to explain where that energy comes from. My mom is the epitome of strength, a beacon of resilience I've always admired. She immigrated from Ethiopia to America in her early 20s, worked jobs that many people would consider beneath her, married, and had two children. She went to school here to become a nurse, and during that time, my dad got hurt at work, and she ended up taking care of him. Through perseverance, she became a registered nurse. She had two jobs and worked 6-7 days/week. She cared for her husband and two children, and I remember her sleeping in her car between shifts. She gave my brother and me everything we needed and what she never had growing up. I admire my mom for staying with my dad through the hard times because most people wouldn't. I often think about one part of a wedding vow: "to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." She had every chance to leave, but she chose to stay. She sacrificed more than I could ever imagine or repay. I graduated in 2010, and my mom encouraged me to enter nursing, but I refused. I wanted to make money, not get into more debt. She allowed me the space to explore. She watched her son struggle his way into finding himself. I had two finance jobs, tried to be a rapper, and did bartending, retail, and sales before becoming a personal trainer. Nursing was my backup plan. Being on the @Jennifer Hudson Show is something I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams. I’m grateful for the opportunity to express my love and admiration for my mom. None of this is possible without her. I want people to understand that my mom is not just a dreamer and a fighter but also the source of my resilience, determination, and enthusiasm. I am who I am because of her. #fyp #nursing
