Let’s hide and enjoy for a moment 🥰🦡🦭 Here are some of my favourite moments from this summer 🙈. The last two weeks I’ve been on vacation in Scotland with my family. I tried to switch off a bit and found time to draw more hippos again and I did a lot of Sudokus. This was really nice and also kind of necessary with a lot of exciting things coming up over the next months. Nevertheless, I also had some wonderful animal encounters in Scotland and this summer in general 🥰. Species in order of appearance: badger, European beaver, common seal, barn swallow, brown hare, pheasant Filmed with the Sony Alpha 1 II, Sony Burano & DJI Mavic 4 Pro 🎥 #badgersoftiktok #wildanimals #nature #relaxing

*Werbung | Ad* Which animal is your favourite? 🦊,🎣,🐿️ or 🦢? Last week I got the opportunity to test out two new lenses from @Sony Europe 🙈: - The Sony 400mm f4.5 GM - The Sony 600mm f6.3 GM Both of these lenses are incredibly compact and lightweight and I had a lot of fun with them. Their design allows you to bring them everywhere with you, so you can also capture those unexpected wildlife encounters - and all of that in great GM-quality and detail, so you can also crop into the images in post. 🥰 Sony Alpha 1II | 400mm f4.5 GM | 600mm f6.3 GM #sonygenuine #wildlifeoftiktok #naturephoto

I am starting a monthly mail club 🙈💌 *Eigenwerbung | Ad* This project has been in the making for a long time. From the first idea last December to designing the first assets, drawing hippos and making a new online store, it was quite a journey. But finally here it is: The „Nil Nature Mail Club“! ❤️🦛 Each month’s letter includes: * a personal letter from me * an A6 print/postcard * a sticker * a small hippo drawing with a short poem My goal with each letter is to create a bit of joy in an envelope. And to connect to all of you in a slower, more personal way than it is possible digitally.  The Nil Nature Mail Club is for you if you like slowing down, opening cute letters, observing wildlife and especially if you like hippos. Become a member today through the link in my bio 😊🫂 #snailmailclub #cuteanimal #redsquirrel

This was so lovely to observe 🦊😍 In 2024 @wildblick.art  called me because he and his good friend Heinz found this beautiful fox den. So together we spent two evenings there. It always took some time until the puppies appeared and once they did it was so wonderful watching them play 🥰.⁣ It’s still one of my favorite memories from the last years 🙈 Filmed with the Sony Alpha 7SIII & Sony Burano 🎥

Do the calls work? 👀 As a wildlife filmmaker and nature lover I always struggle when things don’t work out for a while and I don’t have the animal encounters that make me so happy. This spring and early summer I had one of those periods. In my new YouTube video I tell the story of how I nevertheless ended up filming one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve ever witnessed and how that lead to a lovely encounter with a pheasant 🙈. Watch the full film on YouTube 🥰 Filmed with the Sony Alpha 1 II & Sony Burano 🎥

I love these animals ❤️📸 In early summer I found a hedge full of rabbits while searching for an active fox burrow. The absence of any foxes lead me to spend a couple of mornings and evenings lying on the path under my camouflage net trying to photograph the long-eared fellows. Since they were quite skittish it took a couple of attempts until it worked out. But rabbits are always so cute and I really enjoyed my time with them 🙈. Cute little friend 🥰🐥 While photographing kingfishers this little wren seemed very curious in what I was doing and repeatedly came very close to us. It was super lovely and I even got a photo of it 📸. Join the Nil Nature Mail Club until the end of the week to receive my first letter 💌🦛 #wren #wildlifephotography #cutebirds

I love this bird 😍📸 Like always at this time of year I am currently working on my 2027 calendar. The process of looking through the photos from the previous 12 months always brings up nice memories and it’s something I truly enjoy. This photo of a kingfisher bathing (kingfishers don’t just dive to catch fish but also to clean themselves) will definitely be featured in my upcoming 2027 Calendar (available early October) 😊 Sony Alpha 7V | FE 400-800mm #kingfisher #kingfishers #birdphoto

Rate the cuteness from 1-10 🥰 In June Stefan Decker where a little owl family lives inside a nest box. As the sun set the four owlets started to become active and they also got a visit by their parents. Stefan also just uploaded a YouTube video about the little owls you can watch it on his YouTube channel 👉 @wildblick.art Filmed on the Sony Burano 🎥 #littleowl #wildanimals #cuteanimal

This was such a beautiful encounter 😍🦉 Two weeks ago I was on my way home through the forest after filming beavers at sunset. As I was walking I started to hear some strange calls. It was too dark to see anything so I got up at sunrise the next morning and returned to the same spot in the forest. I could still hear the calls however finding the source turned out to be a bit more tricky. But eventually a young tawny owl landed on a perfect branch and I could make a short video clip and take some photos 😊. Sony Alpha 1II | 400mm f2.8 GM #owlsoftiktok #cutebirds #owl
