My Mum thinks this would make a great Christmas present too, it’s not just me! I have some exciting news to share - well, exciting for me anyway - I’m not sure about the rest of you 😂😂😂… but I have a new gardening book coming out this week (8 Oct 2026.) ‘Grow it, Don’t Throw it’ has loads of recycling and repurposing tips for you to use in your garden. I always like to think gardening should cost very little or even be free, so here are 75 ideas to get you gardening on a tiny or non-existent budget. You can create a beautiful garden by recycling things you may already have in reach of your green finger tips! Dare I say the C-word, but it would make a great Christmas present (In my humble opinion of course) for anybody who loves gardening and would appreciate some thrifty and creative gardening tips. The book is published on 8th October…but is available to pre-order from most bookstores now. Thanks so much for your support and happy gardening
Birch polypore is said to have many healing properties. Many use it as a natural plaster to dress wounds. Although, as I’m a Gardener and not a doctor or scientist, I can’t vouch for birch polypore’s physical healing properties, but I can say that I find a walk through the woods is generally good for your soul and your overall well being. Always make sure you have correctly identified the correct plant or fungus when out in the countryside. When foraging, only take the bare minimum and leave the rest for nature and wildlife. Finally, as mentioned earlier, I'm not a doctor, I’m a gardener, so if you have a medical condition you are concerned about please consult a professional.
My latest gardening book ‘Grow it, Don’t Throw it’ will be published on the 8th of October. (Tomorrow) It is packed full with inspirational ideas on how you can recycle materials to use in the garden. Not only is it practical but your garden will also look beautiful.
