This isn’t just another abortion ban. It’s a portable abortion ban — designed to follow Texans across state lines and punish anyone who helps us. A doctor in New York. A friend in California. A clinic in Illinois. Under SB 6, they could all be sued for $100,000 in Texas for providing care that’s 100% legal where they live. It’s a bounty system. It’s surveillance. It’s fear. And it’s meant to isolate Texans from the people who care about us. 💥 The good news: House Democrats have broken quorum, so SB 6 — and Abbott’s racist redistricting plan — can’t move forward right now. We’re grateful for the lawmakers standing up to protect Texans. But the fight isn’t over. 📢 Stay loud. Stay organized. We’re not backing down. #txlege #texas #politics #bountyhunter #fyp

Last Wednesday, our Government Relations & Political Director, Darcy Caballero, testified before the Senate Health and Human Services Committee during a hearing on “fraud and abuse” in Texas health programs. So we addressed the elephant in the room: the $180 million in taxpayer dollars funding crisis pregnancy centers that don’t provide medical care, don’t offer family planning, and operate with little to no oversight. That money isn’t going to Texans who need care. It’s being funneled into anti-abortion marketing, fundraising, and unregulated centers that put pregnant Texans at risk. Just days ago, the Dallas Morning News reported on how a woman’s ectopic pregnancy was missed by one of these centers because they are not licensed medical providers and do not offer evidence-based care. Many are staffed by untrained religious volunteers rather than medical professionals. If lawmakers are serious about fraud and abuse, they should start here. 🗣️Every dollar is taxpayer money. Every dollar deserves accountability. #texas #texaspolitics
