I was invited to join this wonderful event this past weekend and I’m so glad I got to participate. It was such a cool experience to get out and do something fun and watch other people create such gorgeous works of art. I have never painted a mural before and I only had about 2 days to get the design and materials together. I am pretty proud of what I was able to accomplish. This mural is of our state bird, the Brown Thrasher. They are super cute and a beautiful brownish-red like pine straw. They are fast flyers who eat various little bugs and berries and you can sometimes see them run along the ground for short distances. My favorite things about them are their beautiful golden eyes and their whiskers! The last few images are from the other amazing artists who participated. If you look closely at the pictures everyone has their handle painted on their artwork so please go check them out too. I am so grateful to have opportunities like this and for the support of people close to me and even people who I’ve never even met that make me feel capable of doing cool things! #mural #local #smalltown #artistsoftiktok

It’s that time of year again! This project is my submission for Desert Bus For Hope 2026. It is a charity live stream and part of the fundraising is auctioing off items crafted by fans. The proceeds go to benefit Childs Play which offers a variety of entertainment and resources to children’s hospitals to make the stay less scary for the kid and their families. I am so grateful to be part of the Craftalong again this year and despite some minor setbacks the project is well on its way! I am still working on getting a space set up to take better photos of the progress but this is what I’m working with so far. The design is based on The Fourth Chorus, a boss fight in the first act of Silksong. The fight was BRUTAL and took me longer than I care to admit to beat. This piece depicts The Fourth Chorus looming in a stylized background meant to represent the biome it is found in which is a mix of lava flows and lush greenery. The focal point is Hornet in the throes of defeat. I look forward to sharing my progress and also seeing what other folks are working on this year! #crochet #DesertBusForHope #loadingreadyrun #silksong #crafting

I’ve been working hard and trying not to spiral over this project. The gauge worked up perfectly so I’m not sure where the disconnect is. I used the same yarn, hook, stitch, and my tension is pretty consistent even with the frequent color changes. I am happy with how it looks overall but I am confused. I am trusting the process and feeling hopeful. #crochet #tapestrycrochet #WIP #desertbusforhope #silksong
