10 steps to a fun, memorable, relaxed first dance ⬇️ Most couples think they just need to “practice more.” But the real answer? Preparing for the actual wedding environment - the shoes, the dress, the nerves, the layout, the lighting, the crowd. Here’s how to make your first dance feel effortless instead of stressful: 1️⃣ Practice in your actual shoes. No breaking in brand-new heels on the wedding night. We don’t need a Chandler Bing flail on the dance floor. 2️⃣ Practice in a skirt or dress. Your groom should not be staring down at your feet - he should be connecting with YOU. (If you want to go above and beyond? Look up “the comforter trick” 👀✨) 3️⃣ Practice with the real song version. Acoustic, slowed, remixed… use the exact track you’ll dance to. 4️⃣ Check your space. Mark out the size of your dance floor, even if it’s just painter’s tape in the living room. 5️⃣ Use soft lighting.
