Having questions does not automatically mean you have lost your faith. And pretending you have none does not make your faith stronger. “Faith Includes Doubt” makes room for the questions, grief, anger, and uncertainty we are sometimes taught to hide. The Psalms contain more than praise—they include honest cries of “How long?” (Psalm 13:1–2). You can wrestle with what you believe without treating every question as a betrayal. You can examine what you were taught without deciding in advance what you must conclude. You do not have to believe every feeling. But you can tell the truth about having it.
