Apex Guardian was so much better than I anticipated, and there's a very good chance that this book lands in my top 10 for the year. And one of the main reasons I enjoyed it is that Vrax wasn't just given a wealth of power. He earned the wealth of power that he now has. After spending years rejecting rare classes and doing dumber and dumber things to hopefully unlock rarer classes, he finally meets the prerequisites for a unique class, the Paladin of the Cycle. That class gives him power over life and death itself. So he takes mundane creatures and magical beasts and converts them into mystical horrors, in which he uses to scare his opponents to death about 90% of the time. Plus Jollybane sprinkled in the perfect amount of humor, of which most of it is Sunshine the man-eater daisy chasing people around with the sole intention of consuming them while they're screaming for help, and all you can really do is sit there and giggle. My one gripe is the whole kingdom thing towards the end of the book, because we kinda jump straight to an immediate kingdom instead of him establishing a domain first. But overall it's a 4.5 out of 5 for me, and I was giggling through it on my way to work pretty much every single day. So has anybody else started this one yet? Replying to @Andy Rogers #greenscreen I will always be a backpack type of guy. No shame to the ole trusty toolbox. I just dont like having to carry that around and worry about it all the time. #magicthegathering #magicthegatheringcards #mtgtiktok #mtgcommunity #magic_the_gathering #mtgnews #mtg #mtgcommunityedh #mtgcommandertiktok
